Business ethics are the foundation of our conduct, ensuring trust, transparency and integrity in the way we work

Upholding sound business principles safeguards us from risks and is core to our purpose of advancing the standard of care in medical dermatology. We want to be valued not only for our treatments, but also for the way we work. We are committed to acting ethically and responsibly throughout our business.

Focus areas include:

  • Enabling a safe workplace: We are determined to protect our employees by avoiding potential accidents and promoting a safe working environment and culture. The importance of taking good care of colleagues by reporting and acting on hazards and near-misses to prevent injuries that may cause lost worktime is fundamental to our strong safety culture.
  • Our commitment to protecting human rights: LEO Pharma is committed to protecting human rights as defined by the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. We are committed to delivering and enhancing our human rights due diligence processes, strengthening our governance, and updating risk assessments addressing their results.

  • Data ethics: We are committed to mitigating adverse risks while maximizing the advantages of ethical data utilization. Given our reliance on data, the ethical handling of data is of major significance, and our approach to data ethics is guided by a robust policy framework based on key principles such as accountability, autonomy, transparency, data quality, fairness, non-discrimination, ethics by design, responsible data sharing and data security.

  • Fostering transparency, anti-corruption, and grievance management: We are committed to working against corruption. We uphold high business standards and promote good business conduct globally in our interactions with customers, healthcare professionals, public officials and other business partners. Our enhanced Speak-up support structure and governance has enhanced collaboration on investigations and reduced turn-around time on grievances.

  • Our commitment to animal welfare: We are committed to responsible and ethical treatment of animals. As signatories of the Marseille Declaration, we have committed to the international to uphold the highest standards of animal welfare in research and development, emphasizing the pursuit of innovative, alternative methods to minimize the use of animals in scientific studies.

  • Responsible supply chain management: We work actively to create better supply chains in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. We aim to know the social and environmental impact that we have on and through our supply chain, and actively work with our business partners to continually improve practices.
